1. Is WalkBook compatible for a keyboard connection?

   
   No. WalkBook does not support a keyboard connection since it's been designed as a reading device.

2. Is the display screen black&white or colored?

   
   All characters of reading screen are seen in 4 different shades of grey. When colored screen technology is available, it will be applied to WalkBook as well.

3. Is there a native wireless connection support?

   
   This feature is still under the process of R&D.

4. What is the price tag?

   
   Local pricing is 310 USD plus VAT and shipment costs.

6. How long does the battery charge last under different usage conditions?

   
   The battery’s charge has a capacity of 9000 to 10000 page turning or 9-10 hours MP3 playing. As there are no on/off buttons on the device it only uses energy for page turning. The last displayed item remains printed on the screen until the device is used again. Please refer to user’s manual which is published in our website.

7. I would like to see WalkBook, do you have showrooms?

   
   Devices will be displayed in domestic branches of Uğur Learning Centers starting from the 1st of May 2007. Initially, you will find Walkbook stands in Istanbul (Besiktas and Bakirkoy), Ankara, Izmir and Bursa branches.

8. What is the capacity of Walkbook’s memory?

   
   WalkBook V3 contains a memory to store operating system files. But users can store files (books, mp3 music files) in memory cards.  A 1GB SD card is shipped as a standard accessory with the product package. The device supports up to 4GB memory cards.

9. Do you have any technical service in Turkey?

   
   We have technical service and the device has 12 months warranty.

10. Is it possible to enlarge text fonts in WalkBook?

    
    By normal, double and full screen modes it is possible to zoom by 2 factors. In full screen mode, pages are displayed in correspondence with A4 paper sizes. We are also planning to provide books with different font sizes at our website www.walkbook.net This option will make it possible to read the same book with different font size. We believe that we have to provide this convenience to users even though this process is not easy (because of long arranging time) for us.

    WalkBook V3 has native support for PDF, TXT, DOC, HTML, MP3, WOL, IMAGES

    Word, PowerPoint, Excel files can be converted to .Wol format easily by walkbookMAKER software. You can download walkbookMaker from our Support page.

12. I own a WalkBook, how do I find e-books and download them?

    
    As UBIT, we have an agreement with Yapı Kredi Publishing. We are going to publish a selection of 10 books in .wol format on our website in the beginning. Users of WalkBook are supposed to register to the website by entering the copyright card number and serial number of their devices. Using our website, our registered members can purchase new books that will be added according to our agreement with different publishers. All books in .Wol format are encrypted with 128 bit for each user during downloading. These encrypted files (books in .wol format) only work with the user’s device and they can not be copied or transferred to other devices. The advantages of this system are to prevent piracy and to reduce prices of books which are on sale in the market up to %50 and thus everybody can follow up the new released books easily.
